Dolly Parton proves apparel is brilliant extension of her brand

Two weeks ago, Dolly Parton released a branded pet apparel and accessories line called Doggy Parton, and needless to say, it’s been a hit. The well-known animal lover launched a collection of branded items for pets, including apparel, toys, accessories, and yes, even wigs, and many of the styles are already sold out. Dolly Parton is known to be philanthropic and this extension of pet products is no exception. As the Dolly Parton site reports, a portion of the proceeds will go directly to benefit Willa B. Farms Animal Rescue.

The apparel and accessories line with a philanthropic angle are fitting for Dolly Parton. She explained in a statement, “‘Puppy Love’ was my very first record and six decades later, my love for pets is stronger than ever. This inspired me to start my own line of Doggy Parton apparel, accessories, toys and more with a little ‘Dolly’ flair. Part of the proceeds will support Willa B Farms, a rescue where animals in need find never-ending love. Don’t we all need that?”

Aligning new products with a brand’s mission (in this case, Dolly Parton), can be incredibly effective. With pet apparel being growing market, the brand extension into this segment makes sense.
